Earlier this month, Refinery29 published an article documenting the everyday spending of a 21-year old intern in New York City, who lives rent free, makes $25 an hour, AND receives $1100 a month in allowance from family. The article quickly drew criticism, with some saying this woman is not someone who should be talking about money. If she's not allowed to talk about money, who is? Are the concerns that so many have with this article valid, or do they reflect a general negative view of how millennial women spend their money? Financial blogger Desirae Odjick shares why she thinks the article in question is an important one, despite how cringe-worthy it may be.
