Maxime Bernier's Twitter account took on corporeal form Thursday, as the Conservative MP and leadership runner-up announced he was leaving the party - and he wasn't kind to his former colleagues on his way out. Bernier plans to start his own party, but details beyond that are few. What's happening to Canada's right wing? Is there room for two parties on that side is the spectrum? How explicit will Bernier's new party be in its opinion of multiculturalism, or immigration? How big a dent can Mad Max make in his old boss's base? Scott Gilmore of Maclean's explains the current state of Conservative Canada and also offers a little something about what happens when you offer Canadians an alternative to an unsatisfying party.
