Yet another study suggests parents who hover over their children are hurting their emotional growth. Despite this, helicopter parenting seems to be the new norm. With pressure coming from all directions, it has never been harder to raise an independent kid. What’s driving the helicopter over-load? What happens when kids lose their freedom? Maclean’s reporter and super-dad, Aaron Hutchins spent the better half of this spring trying to determine when good parenting became a crime.
